This was drawn in SuperPaint, of all things. A ripple effect is what causes the irregularity of the lines.

The wireframe is simply the pair of lattice objects.

For the more nerdly among you, this simple plant consists of 65536 polygons.

It looks like it still needs anti-aliasing, but I think that's all from the shape. The texture I used had no bump mapping.
