Calyxa's Kaleidoscope Schemes |

About Kaleidoscope, from the source |
<PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUCEMENT MODE> If you've come to this page, it's reasonably safe for me to assume that you've got a Macintosh computer. If you've ever wanted to program your Mac but have no idea where to get started, you might want to take a look at my page about Apple's Macintosh Programmer's Workshop which is available free for the downloading.</PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUCEMENT MODE> |
You're not going crazy, the image below is an animated gif showing all six of my DecoGlass schemes.
| |
Right now I've got a big (100K) package with all six schemes and a ReadMe file. If you want only one or two of them, drop me a note and I'll mail it to you. Or, if there's a big enough demand for a way to get only one or two of the six, I'll set each one up with its own download link. Wow! The DecoGlass set of Kaleidoscope schemes got a 4 cows rating at Tucows!

Moonstone is now version 1.5.3, for both cosmetic and technical changes. The technical changes include putting in even more resources left out by the scheme converter and repairing some all-black cicn resources in b&w mode. A complete version history is included in the Read Me file.

Amber 1.5.2 |
Amber has gone to 1.5.2 primarily for technical reasons, the additional missing resources that Moonstone lacked also were not in any of my schemes. A few minor cosmetic changes were made.

In converting Karishikar to 1.5, I've used a ppat for the racing stripes, had a lot of fun with scrollbar animation, and started playing with how all the pieces fit together. Karishikar is now version 1.5.1, it also needed a few more cicn resources.

Minara 1.5.0 |
Nothing too fancy, just a cleanly converted version of Minara for Kaleidoscope 1.5. Minara has the advantage that I've already found mistakes made when converting the other three schemes, so hopefully there aren't any problems. Let me know if you find out otherwise!

My Contest Entries | |
---|---|
When I saw the contest winners, I was struck at how similar the colors in the #2 entry, Lounge Lizard, were to my primary entry, Tourmaline. This scheme is much more subtle (boring? plain? non-distracting?). There are patterns in the racing stripes and active scrollbars which echo the texture of the widgets.

Corundum is the twin of Tourmaline, but in teal and blue. I also have most of a red and purple version, but it's nothing special. If you like the sound of it, though, let me know and maybe I'll finish it up.

Hey, it's a (mostly) greyscale scheme! Pink triangles and hearts turn red when pushed. Beta-tested at Stormy Leather.

A Spin-Off Bonus Scheme | |
---|---|
Leather Pride did not submit to the contest.

Thanks again for your time. If you have any words of advice or encouragement, I'd really like to hear from you. If you have more time to spend on viewing cool mac-made graphics, I have several pages of images created with KPT Bryce that you may enjoy. |
